Hey, everyone. Thanks for minding the fort while I was gone. My wife, Aimee, and I enjoyed a week-long, no-kids Caribbean cruise with a few of our best friends. Had a great time. It looked a lot like this:

I'm still catching up after having missed a week of work and wading through my in-box, so it may be a few days before the regular posting continues. But in the meantime, thanks to all of you who participated in last week's caption contest featuring me and a tank from the first Gulf War.

Travis wins because his caption was creative (1), was funny (2), and met the secret third (3) criteria -- it contained an obscure pop cultural reference. If you don't know what he's talking about, Travis is alluding to the board game RISK, which is one of my favorite games of all time. (Also, when it comes to geographical names, Kamchatka is a personal favorite. Hard to defend, RISK-wise, but always fun to say.)

yay brother! i was embarrassed that i had no idea what his caption meant until i found out it was a 'risk' reference... now i am not the least bit ashamed i didn't get it!

I am a fan. I've been to couple of his shows -- one at a bar in Denver and one at Bongo Billy's in Salida. The one in Salida was especially fun, because my friends and I were sitting about six feet from him. He's so much fun to watch.
