Some of you may know I'm currently working on another Pocket Guide book. This one's called (tentatively) Pocket Guide to the Afterlife. It's about what various cultures and religions have thought/taught/believed about what happens after you die. Obviously there's a bunch of Christian stuff in there, including traditional beliefs about heaven and hell.
And because heaven and hell have become something of a mini publishing phenomenon over the past couple of years, I need to cover Don Piper's bestselling book 90 Minutes in Heaven and Bill Wiese's bestselling 23 Minutes in Hell.
(I'm still waiting for 46 Minutes in Irkalla, the Gloomy Netherworld of Mesopotamian Mythology. But I'm not holding my breath.)
Anyway, both the heaven and hell books are pretty interesting when it comes to the subject matter. So, I'm curious...
Have any of you read either of these books?
If so, what did you think?
Did either of these books impact you in any way (positive or negative)?

i havent read either. but i will say that of all your pocket guide books...the afterlife one is the one I'm looking forward to the most i think.
Read a little of the heaven one. Doesn't really talk much about heaven. Seemed like a quick buck off of a super-natural experience. (Mostly just read some of it cuz Don Miller endorsed it.)
I actually just finished reading Don Piper's book a couple days ago. I used to work at a bookstore and would always sneak over to his books when I got a chance to read a little more about what he had to say (which I also did with the 23 min. in Hell book). I eventually caved in and bought 90 Mins. in Heaven, and absolutely loved it. I normally don't read a book twice, but I want to pass this book around to everyone I know and then read it again myself. I think it's very inspiring, and I absolutely love hearing people's accounts of what they say Heaven is like (even if it's false, I just like to imagine.) I do want to read the opposite book to see what it's all about too, because I think it's just as intriguing (even though I doubt there's nearly as much hope involved.)
